The little boy in yellow raincoat from It
It boy in yellow raincoat
The name of the boy who appears in the 1990 IT movie with a yellow raincoat is Georgie Denbrough. We wished he had moved away from that sewer, but we would have run out of this great scene, and probably the movie.
A rainy day in Derry. Georgie leaves home with her yellow raincoat and green boots to float, float, float the SS Georgie boat that her brother Bill has made. Georgie chases the boat down the street until suddenly, the boat falls down a sewer.
When Georgie approaches the sewer, eyes light up inside, it’s It. “Hello, Georgie.” The clown tries to gain the confidence of Georgie, but he does not trust. But It tricks him, he introduces himself as the dancing clown, he talks to him about popcorn, he offers him a red balloon, … But the only trick with which he gets the boy to approach is with his brother’s ship. Georgie doesn’t want to disappoint his brother, his best friend.
That is the end of the kid, It eats his arm and drags him into the sewer. Yellow raincoat lovers will never forget you, Georgie.
It's not just the yellow raincoat and the red balloon
The first part of the miniseries known as Stephen King’s It is a masterpiece of photography. The use of colour as an element of language is evident in the fight between the innocence of the yellow raincoat of Georgie and the evil of the red balloon of Pennywise. The light is also oriented to this purpose with scenes with a clear orange tone when these two forces are close.
Most colours other than red and yellow are poorly saturated. However, throughout the movie, these two fully saturated colours guide our minds in the fight between good and evil. This is clearly reflected in the scene in Beverly’s house bathroom.
The chilling image of the literally painted blood bathroom creates a lot of tension but there is no problem, there is Bill to calmly say that it will have to be cleaned. And then it is when our beloved yellow colour appears again, in the cleaning gloves, giving us some beautiful frames full of saturation while the red, the evil, disappears and the good prevails.
Yellow predominates at the beginning of the movie. The raincoat, the police cartel in the school, yellow buses, … In many scenes, we are struck by the little dissimulation with which they introduce elements that capture our attention above the rest of the elements. Flowers, sunflowers, a mailbox, a fruit bowl, the yellow rain suit.
Red is the colour of Pennywise, the colour of its balloon. When It is close red things appear and the light turns orange. In the scene of the rabbi’s office, the light turns orange indicating that it is near. Evil is close and seeks your fears!
